Kushal Vangara
I’m a Ph.D. graduate in Computer Science from the Florida Institute of Technology, with a research focus at the intersection of Responsible AI, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Biometrics, Computational Psychology, and Cybersecurity. My work bridges technical innovation and human-centered design to tackle complex problems in identity verification, behavioral modeling, and ethical AI. I’ve developed and improved machine learning systems for face recognition, person re-identification, long-distance recognition, and deepfake detection, with an emphasis on robustness, fairness, and interpretability across diverse populations. With an M.S. in Information Assurance and Cybersecurity and a B.Tech in Electronics and Communications Engineering, I bring interdisciplinary expertise to designing AI systems that are not only accurate but also equitable and socially responsible. I’m passionate about creating AI technologies that serve people—transparent, inclusive, and impactful. I’m currently seeking opportunities in research, teaching, or applied industry roles where I can continue advancing the state of AI and its positive role in society.
